Role and Key Responsibilities
- Supervision: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the collections team.
- Training and Development: Providing training to team members on collection techniques, negotiation skills, and compliance with regulations.
- Performance Management: Monitoring individual and team performance, setting targets, and providing feedback.
- Problem Solving: Resolving escalated customer issues and finding solutions to overcome challenges in the collections process.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing collection data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and strategies to increase effectiveness.
- Compliance: Ensuring that collections practices adhere to company policies and regulations such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Communication: Acting as a liaison between upper management and the collections team, and maintaining clear communication channels within the team.
- Motivation: Motivating and empowering team members to achieve collection goals and maintain high morale.
- Reporting: Generating reports on collection activities, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
- Adaptability: Being flexible and able to adjust strategies based on changing market conditions, regulations, or company policies.
Key skills & knowledge:
- Good people management skills/Demonstrated ability to lead people and drive results.
- Collection Experience - preferred.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Highly analytical with excellent communication skills.
- Deliver flawless Customger Service.
- Good understanding of quality tools and demonstrate commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of the banking domain shall be an added advantage
- Quality of recommendations for continuous improvement/implementation of changes
